Biography

David Price enters his 31st season in professional football and his sixth as Kansas City’s Head Athletic Trainer in 2011. He is responsible for all aspects of the Athletic Training Department, including the evaluation, management, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of athletic injuries.

He joined the Chiefs after spending 10 seasons (’96-05) as a member of the N.Y. Jets. Price served as the Jets Head Athletic Trainer/Senior Director, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation after originally joining the organization as Head Athletic Trainer in ’96.

Before his arrival in New York, he spent the previous 10 seasons (’86-95) serving as the Assistant Trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles, working for the legendary Otho Davis. Price began his NFL career as a season intern for Davis in ’81 before being promoted to a full-time position as an Assistant Trainer with the Eagles in ’82. Following the lead of Davis, Price has established internship programs at his various NFL stops for young trainers to gain experience at the professional level, a program he also employs in Kansas City.

The Quakertown, Pennslyvania native served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the USFL Stars, who claimed two league titles during the league’s three-year existence from ’83-85. A three-year starter as a collegiate linebacker at Lock Haven University, Price holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a specialization in Sports Medicine.

Price employs three full-time assistants. David Glover is in his sixth season with the Chiefs.The Muskegon, Michigan native spent the 2004 campaign as a seasonal assistant working for Price with the Jets and worked as a trainer at Rutgers in 2005. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan and owns a Master’s from Seton Hall.

Jimmy Ntelekos enters his sixth year with the Chiefs after serving three seasons as an Assistant Trainer with the N.Y. Jets. Prior to his tour in New York, Ntelekos served as a trainer for the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe (2002-03) after originally beginning his career as a seasonal intern with the Jets in 2001. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Temple and a Master’s from Furman.

Nick Potter is in his third season as a full-time trainer with the Chiefs after serving as a seasonal assistant with the club in 2006. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a Master’s degree from Texas Tech University where he served as a graduate assistant. Prior to joining the Chiefs he worked at Hackley Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (2005-06) and as an intern with the Detroit Lions (2005-05).

Price, Glover, Ntelekos and Potter are all certified members of the National Athletic Trainers Association. In addition, Price serves on the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society/NFL Steroid and Related Drug Committee. Price also employs two seasonal training assistants: David Comeau (Endicott) and Brendon Powers (Texas Tech).
