How acquired:

Originally entered the NFL as the Chiefs third-round pick (87th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft.

NFL Career Highlights:

  • Drafted by the Chiefs with the 87th overall pick in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. 
  • Became the seventh player from Rice University drafted by the Chiefs and is the first since DT Cornelius Walker was drafted in the third round (59th overall) of the 1975 NFL Draft.
  • Was a two-time All-Conference USA selection and set a school career record by breaking up 38 passes in his career.

College:

Played in 52 games (40 starts) at Rice, recording 175 tackles (134 solo), 2.0 sacks (-25 yards), three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, four interceptions returned for two yards, 11 tackles for loss and 38 pass breakups ... Two-time All-CUSA selection ... His 38 pass breakups marked a school career record.

Personal:

  • Was a two-year letterman at Converse Judson High School, where he registered 110 tackles and four interceptions during his two seasons.
  • Blocked five kicks on special teams as a senior.
  • Played in the Region III final at Rice Stadium as a junior as Judson advanced to the state title game.
  • Ranked as one of the top 110 hurdlers in the state as a senior.
