Biography

Corey Matthaei enters his second season with the Chiefs as the club’s offensive quality control coach in 2014. In 2013, Matthaei assisted an offensive staff that saw the Kansas City offense improve exponentially as the season progressed. RB Jamaal Charles led the NFL in first downs (104), ranked second in yards from scrimmage with 1,980 and recorded the most receiving (693) yards by a running back in Chiefs history. QB Alex Smith threw only seven interceptions, ranking him first in the NFL for fewest interceptions (min. 300 attempts) and set a career record for most pass attempts in a single season (508).
