Excitement continues to build in anticipation of Romeo Crennel’s first season as Chiefs head coach with 82 Chiefs fans cashing in on the team’s 30 Prizes in 30 Days Sweepstakes.
Each day since December 18, 2011, the Chiefs have held a drawing for Season Ticket Holders who have renewed their seats for 2012 with a minimum payment. The result has seen Chiefs fans walk away with everything from a suite upgrade to an opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pass at a select game next season.
Two lucky winners will receive a personal phone call from President Mark Donovan on Wednesday, January 18th, with the news that they’ve won two tickets to Super Bowl XLVI or XLVII.
“I thought some of my buddies were giving me a prank,” said Season Ticket Holder Stephen Wyly, who won a trip to Hawaii for the 2013 Pro Bowl. “My wife’s brother is a retired Navy pilot and he was stationed in Hawaii, so my wife has been there many times, but I haven’t. This is very exciting for me and also exciting for her because she’ll be my tour guide.”
The three-day vacation, which includes hotel, airfare and Pro Bowl tickets, happens to fall just days before Wyly’s 50th birthday.
“It’s a nice birthday present also,” Wyly said. “We’re actually looking into extending the trip. It got my wife off the hook, that’s for sure.”
Wyly originally became a Chiefs season ticket holder 10 years ago and has renewed his tickets each year since.
“I’ve lived here in Kansas City most of my life and my uncle had season tickets forever it seemed like,” Wyly explained. “When I was younger I’d go to games maybe every year or two, so I became a fan at a fairly young age. Then once I was older I wanted to start that tradition with my kids.”
