The Kansas City Chiefs knew exactly what they were getting, when they signed S
In 2013, wearing Chiefs red, Abdullah played in all 16 games (two starts) recording 17 tackles (12 solo), 0.5 sacks (-3.5 yards), four passes defensed and one interception return touchdown against the team's bitter rival, the Oakland Raiders.
Abdullah's pick-six against the Silver and Black in Week 6 was his first INT with the team. He stepped in front of the pass by Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor and returned it 44 yards for the score, marking his fifth-career interception and his first interception returned for a touchdown. Abdullah added 0.5 sack (-3.5 yards), two tackles (ones solo), one QB pressure and one pass defensed in the 24-7 win.
It wasn't long before Abdullah struck again, creating two turnovers in the team's AFC Wild Card Game against the Indianapolis Colts. Husain recorded two interceptions of QB Andrew Luck, which are Abdullah's first two postseason interceptions and tie the club record for most interceptions in a single postseason game. He became the sixth player in Chiefs history to record two interceptions in a playoff game and also added six solo tackles and two passes defensed in the contest.
Following the 2013 season, Abdullah spoke of the tight-knit Chiefs team he enjoyed being a part of, along with the first-class coaching staff, which again will utilize Husain in the best way possible for success in 2014.
