“Not as much as this,” Wiegmann said when asked what he brought to his first NFL training camp. “Now that you’ve been in for a while, you’ve got more stuff and you know what to bring in and what to leave at home. We’re here for a while, so I’m going to make it comfortable."
Regardless of what each player brought to camp, excitement and a bit of anxiety filled their air at player check-in. Everyone, however, is ready to officially kick off the start to 2010.

For some, the worst part is over – head coach Todd Haley’s infamous conditioning test. The annual drill was held back at the Chiefs Training Facility on Thursday morning, before the players packed and reported to training camp in St. Joseph. Though the majority of players chose to remain mum about who passed and who didn’t, everyone is going to have to deal with a much different climate in the first year of training camp moving back to Missouri.
Luckily for the Chiefs, it looks like a cold front is pulling through the area over the next 10 days with temperatures expected to top out in the high 80s to low 90s. However, the Chiefs former training camp home of River Falls, Wisconsin forecasts temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s.
“The heat is the heat,” Cassel said. “We’ve been doing it all off-season and the guys have adjusted well. You just have to take care of yourself – get in the cold tub and make sure that you are drinking enough. I’m sure that coach will take care of us and that we’ll talk a lot about that.”
“I don’t think it will bother us,” ![]()
