“We’ll go out today and continue our work and see what we can get done. Attitudes are decent. They’re still working, trying to improve, and that’s what we need to do.”
After practice at the University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex Chiefs players spoke with the media.
“We’re trying to get it better and we will get it better. Coach Crennel is adamant about that. We’ve got to play at a high level. We’re NFL players that have to be on the same page. This game is hard. Offenses are very hard. But at some time we’ve got to put our foot down and we’ve got to stop them from scoring. We’re letting people score way too many points.”
“We have to try to show different coverages, disguise and be all in as a defense – get great pressure up front and defend well in the back.”
“I think that was to get it as loud as possible because we couldn’t hear Matt [Cassel], which is good because I’ve played in the Superdome many times and you can’t hear anybody in there. That’s the way it’s going to be. I think that’s good for us. We need to have as much crowd noise and as much confusion out there as possible because that’s the road in the NFL. It’s tough to win on the road. There’s a reason it’s tough to win on the road. The Superdome is probably one of the hardest places to get a win on the road because of that, because of the noise, because of the craziness, the songs, the dancing that’s going on. Everything that’s great about New Orleans also makes it tough for us to play in there, so I’m happy about it. I want practice to be crazy and as cluttered as possible because there’s going to be some points in the game where it might be like that and we’re going to have to right the ship and get a five-yard gain and get back on track.”
“Just play physical, play with passion and play hard. We’ve been doing a lot of talking around here, and if we all go out there and do our job, I think we can get something done.”
“You’ve just got to keep going and put things together and put things in place. All you can do is do your best, and that’s what I’m going to do from here on out and that’s what I hope we do as a team.”
