NFL/Chiefs Statements on Demetrius Harris' Suspension

STATEMENT FROM THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS:

This morning the NFL notified the club that tight end Demetrius Harris will serve a one-game suspension effective Week 1 of the regular season. We respect and support the league's decision in this matter and will have no further comment on the situation. 

STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:

Demetrius Harris of the Kansas City Chiefs has been suspended without pay for the first game of the 2018 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Harris will be eligible to return to the Chiefs' active roster on Monday, September 10 following the team's September 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Harris is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
