Was success on first down a big point of emphasis this week? “Absolutely, it was a big point of emphasis to produce on first down. Especially against this team that is pretty stout against the run and the play-action pass. We wanted to get off to a good start on every possession. Throughout the game we did a pretty good job of that.”
Was the reverse-pass a turning point? “I thought we had a lot of production before that, but that definitely gave us a jolt of energy. You could see it throughout the sideline. From there we were having a party out there. Everything was going well. We were running the ball well and it just continued throughout the rest of the game.”

What was different today from the prior two games? “I think we just executed well. I’ve said this before, the offensive line did a great job. We got ahead on first and second down which put us into manageable third down situations. We hit some big plays. The receivers made big plays throughout the day and it’s just one of those things where we came together as an offensive unit. With the defense playing the way that they did, and our special teams continues to step up week in and week out, it’s a great feeling to come in here 3-0.”

On the Chiefs aggressive play-calling: “It just gives us confidence as players. You can see it in the huddle, in the lineman’s eyes and in the running backs. They get energized; they get excited about being aggressive and going for it on certain plays and making big plays downfield. And that’s what it’s all about, being excited about what you’re doing and we did that today.”
How do you like it when you have a coaching staff that’s willing to roll the dice? “It’s great. When it works, it’s awesome.”
How much better is the offensive line compared to last year? “We’re playing well right now. I think we had 39 runs today, that balanced attack keeps the defense honest. The offensive line is doing a great job and we’re mixing and matching with running the ball well and play-action pass, it really helps.”
What does 3-0 feel like? “It feels great. Winning ballgames is what the NFL is all about. There’s a lot of guys in this locker room that went through that tough year and the adversity. To be 3-0 at this point, we’re all excited. We’re going to enjoy this one, but as I’ve said before and as Coach (Haley) continues to tell us, ‘Hey, we’re not satisfied at 3-0 and there’s a long season left to go and we have 13 more games.’ We’re not going to be happy, we’re just going to keep working.”
