Looking Back: Chiefs Fourth-Round Draft Picks

Revisiting the team's fourth-round draft choices of the last two decades

The Kansas City Chiefs most-recent fourth-round draft pick was three-time BCS title winner, Alabama LB, Nico Johnson, who joined the team in 2013. Below is a look at the rest of the team's fourth-round draft picks from the last 20 years, as well as stats from their rookie seasons.

2013 NFL Draft

LB Nico Johnson - 99th overall

Johnson played in six contests (one start) and recorded seven tackles (five solo) in 2013.

2012 NFL Draft

WR Devon Wylie - 107th overall

Wylie appeared in six contests (one start), registering six receptions for 53 yards, five punt returns for 26 yards and nine kickoff returns for 191 yards.

2011 NFL Draft

CB Jalil Brown - 118th overall

Brown played in 14 contests, ranking second on the team with eight special teams tackles (seven solo).

2010 NFL Draft

The Chiefs traded their fourth-round pick (102nd overall) to Houston in return for a third-round pick, used to select TE Tony Moeaki.

2009 NFL Draft

S/CB Donald Washington - 102nd overall

Washington played in eight games on special teams and three contests on defense; he had three solo tackles and two special teams stops.

2008 NFL Draft

WR Will Franklin - 105th overall

Franklin finished 2008 with 13 games played (one start), totaling seven receptions for 83 yards and one kick return for 16 yards.

2007 NFL Draft

The Chiefs sent their fourth-round pick (123rd overall) to New Orleans in the 2006 RB Michael Bennett trade.

2006 NFL Draft

The Chiefs sent their fourth-round pick (117th overall) to the N.Y. Jets in compensation for head coach Herm Edwards.

2005 NFL Draft

WR Craphonso Thorpe - 116th overall

Thorpe did not play a game for the Chiefs, but later continued his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts.

2004 NFL Draft

WR Samie Parker - 105th overall

In 2004, Parker played in four games and recorded nine receptions for 137 yards and one TD.

DE Jared Allen - 126th overall

During his rookie season, Allen played in 15 games (10 starts) and recorded 29 tackles, two assists and nine sacks.

2003 NFL Draft

T Brett Williams - 113th overall

Williams didn't play in 2003, but saw action in five games, during the 2004 season.

2002 NFL Draft

FB Omar Easy - 107th overall

During his rookie season, Easy played in seven games and recorded three receptions for 23 yards and one TD.

2001 NFL Draft

The Chiefs obtained a fourth-round pick (Layne) from Jacksonville in the 2000 G Brenden Stai trade.

LB Monty Beisel - 107th overall

Beisel played in 16 games in 2001 and recorded three tackles and three assists.

FB George Layne - 108th overall

Lynch didn't play for the Chiefs, but later continued his career with the Atlanta Falcons.

2000 NFL Draft

RB Frank Moreau - 115th overall

Moreau played one season with the Chiefs, which included 11 games, 67 carries for 179 yards and four TDs.

1999 NFL Draft

WR Larry Parker - 108th overall

Parker finished 2009 with 10 games played, five punt returns for 51 yards and one kick return for 24 yards.

1998 NFL Draft

LB Greg Favors - 120th overall

In his one season with the Chiefs, Favors played in 16 games (four starts), recording 17 tackles, two assists, two sacks, as well as one PBU, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

1997 NFL Draft

QB Pat Barnes - 110th overall

Barnes didn't play for the Chiefs, but later continued his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers.

1996 NFL Draft

LB Donnie Edwards - 98th overall

Edwards played in 15 games (one start), during his rookie campaign, totaling eight tackles, three assists, one INT and two PBUs.

1995 NFL Draft

The Chiefs obtained a fourth-round pick (Stenstrom) as part of a package trade that included Jacksonville's first-round pick (Trezelle Jenkins), third-round pick (Troy Dumas) and a '96 fourth-round pick (Edwards), for the Chiefs first-round pick (19th overall). Kansas City traded its original fourth-round pick to San Francisco in the '94 QB Steve Bono trade.

QB Steve Stenstrom - 134th overall

Stenstrom didn't play for the Chiefs, but later continued his NFL career with the Chicago Bears.

1994 NFL Draft

S Bracy Walker - 127th overall

Walker played two games, during his rookie season.

1993 NFL Draft

LB Jaime Fields - 103rd overall

In 1993, Fields played six games, recorded seven tackles, two assists and two PBUs. Fields also recorded two games played in the '93 postseason, including one start and one fumble recovery.
