Kansas City looks to move to .500 on the season with a game at Oakland on Sunday, Oct. 23. The Chiefs return to action after enjoying an open date last week. In its last game, Kansas City overcame a pair of 17-point deficits to post a 28-24 victory at Indianapolis (10/9). That 17-point come-from-behind victory tied for the largest defi cit the club has overcome in team history. Oakland, meanwhile posted a 24-17 win vs. Cleveland (10/16). The Raiders are in the middle of a three-game homestand that will conclude with a contest vs. Denver (11/6).
The Chiefs spotted Indianapolis leads of 17-0 and 24-7 on Oct. 9 before scoring the fi nal 21 points of the game to secure the victory. RB
Dating back to Sept. 25, Cassel has completed 56 of 82 passes for 693 yards with seven TDs and one INT for a 117.6 passer rating. His 117.6 rating ranks second in the NFL during that time while his 68.3 completion percentage is third in the league. Bowe is tied for fourth in the NFL with four TD catches on the season. He has caught 19 touchdown passes dating back to 2010, trailing only Detroit WR Calvin Johnson (21) during that time.
Kansas City returns home next week for a Monday Night Football game vs. San Diego on Oct. 31. The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and is the second consecutive season the Chiefs and Chargers have matched up on Monday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium. Meanwhile, Oakland has an open date next week (10/30) before hosting Denver on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3:05 p.m. The Raiders will then play four of their next five games on the road.
Kansas City owns a 54-48-2 advantage over Oakland in regular and postseason play. The only team the Chiefs have beaten more frequently is Denver (55 wins). The Chiefs are 52-46-1 against Oakland in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs. Oakland swept the season series a year ago. The Raiders registered a 23-20 OT victory thanks to a 33-yard K Sebastian Janikowski FG in the meeting between the two clubs at Oakland (11/7). The Raiders posted posted a 31-10 win in the regular season finale vs. Kansas City (1/2/11).
The Chiefs are 30-13 (.698) overall vs. the Raiders dating back to ’90, including a ’91 AFC playoff tilt. Kansas City has registered a 15-6 (.714) regular season record against the Raiders at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and O.co Colesium since ’90. The Chiefs had won seven straight games at Oakland from 2003-09, which marks the longest such streak against the Raiders in league history. Kansas City owns two postseason wins against the Raiders, including a 17-7 win in the ’69 AFL Championship Game (1/4/70).
