Long played in seven games (one start) with Kansas City in 2009, catching 20 passes for 178 yards. The Macomb, Michigan native saw action in 26 games (seven starts) at Mississippi State, recording 46 receptions for 321 yards with one TD. He prepped at Utica Eisenhower High School in Shelbyville, Michigan.
Long was originally signed to the Chiefs practice squad on September 16, 2009 and was promoted to the club’s 53-man roster on October 24, 2009. He had previously played in Arizona under Chiefs head coach Todd Haley.
