Chiefs Scratch Three

Posted Aug 13, 2010

Jake O'Connell, Tony Moeaki and Darryl Harris won't play tonight vs. Atlanta

The Chiefs have scratched three players from Friday night's preseason opener in Atlanta. Tight ends Jake O'Connell and Tony Moeaki, as well as guard Darryl Harris will be held out, the team announced 90 minutes prior to kickoff. None of the three made the trip to Atlanta with the team.

Both Moeaki and Harris missed considerable practice time this week due to injuries suffered in training camp. O'Connell appeared to have left Wednesday afternoon's practice early with some sort of injury. He had rallied together several impressive catches over the course of the last week.

In the preseason, the team is not required to make any players inactive. During the regular season, eight players must be declared inactive (a third quarterback may be included among regular season inactives).

The Falcons have announced 11 players scratched for this evening.
