Three-Game Winning Streak, 2-0 Start: The Chiefs have won three consecutive games under Head Coach Todd Haley dating back to the final contest of the 2009 campaign. Kansas City’s three-game winning streak is the club’s longest since 2006. The Chiefs are 2-0 for the first time since 2005. During their three-game winning streak, Kansas City has outscored its opponents by an 81-to-52 margin, good for an average score of 27.0 to 17.3. The Chiefs have registered four return TDs (three INTs, one PR) during that three-game span.

 

Defensive Stats: The Chiefs defense pitched a second-half shutout for second time under Haley. The Chiefs also accomplished the feat in a 16-10 win at Oakland (11/15/09). The Chiefs also held an opponent scoreless in the first quarter for the seventh time under Haley. Kansas City permitted 73 rushing yards, the club’s lowest total since permitting 67 vs. Oakland (9/20/09). The Chiefs have permitted seven second-half points in 2010 after allowing 38 points in the second half of their opening two games in 2009.

Two-Game Rushing Stats – 2010 vs. 2009: The Chiefs are averaging 137.5 rushing ypg after two games in 2010, an increase of 36.5 ypg compared to the opening two contests of 2009. The Chiefs are allowing 91.0 rushing ypg after two games in 2010, a decrease of 41.4 ypg compared to the first two games of 2009.

Close Calls: The Chiefs are 2-0 in games decided by seven points or less in 2010 after going 2-6 in such contests in 2009.

Takeaway Stats: CB Brandon Flowers registered a 33-yard INT return TD, his eight career INT and his second career INT return TD. Flowers previously had a 91-yard INT return at the N.Y. Jets (10/26/08). The Chiefs have three INT return TDs in their last three games. LB Derrick Johnson had two at Denver (1/3/10). LB Mike Vrabel forced his 19th career fumble and DE Glenn Dorsey registered his fourth career fumble recovery.

Scoring Stats: K Ryan Succop hit FGs of 35, 26 and 23 yards. Succop is now 28-32 (87.5%) on FGs as a member of the Chiefs .

Receiving Streak: WR Dwayne Bowe has caught a pass in 37 consecutive games dating back to a contest vs. Denver (11/11/07), the Chiefs longest active receiving streak.

Sack Stats: DE Wallace Gilberry registered his first sack of the season. He now has 5.5 career sacks.
