Lewis (6-0, 198) was the first of Kansas City’s two fifth-round selections (136th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft. He appeared in 44 games (38 starts) at Mississippi, producing 226 tackles (140 solo), six interceptions, 18 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He also registered 10.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks (-34.0 yards) and two blocked kicks. He also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown.
Lewis earned all-state honors as a wide receiver during his senior season at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Georgia. He played his first three prep campaigns at O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, Louisiana before being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
