CHIEFS CELEBRATE YOUTH HEALTH AND FITNESS WITH PLAY 60 GAME AT ARROWHEAD

Posted Nov 23, 2012

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Sunday, Nov. 25 as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Denver Broncos, the Chiefs will continue the NFL’s tradition of encouraging children to be active during a special NFL PLAY 60 themed game. NFL PLAY 60 is a league-wide effort to fight childhood obesity by encouraging youth to be active for at least 60 minutes a day.

On Sunday, the team will join with the Midwest Dairy Association’s Fuel Up to PLAY 60 program in recognizing 11 youth Ambassadors participating in that initiative. These students are from Ridgeview Elementary in Olathe, Kan. Their advisor and PE Teacher, Wendy Scholten, was named the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisor of the Year.  Wendy will participate in the Ceremonial First Pass with Chiefs Ambassador Anthony Davis during pregame festivities. The Youth Ambassadors will participate in a special tailgate with healthy food options, including dairy, and will also be on the field for a pregame ceremony during player introductions.

Prior to the PLAY 60 game, 40 finalists, ages 6-15 from Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, will participate in the Chiefs Punt, Pass & Kick team championship at The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex.
