The National Football League officially announced its 2010 preseason matchups on Wednesday, including a pair of contests at the New Arrowhead. The initial NFL contest at the New Arrowhead will be Kansas City’s third preseason contest as the Chiefs host the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs will round out their preseason slate at the New Arrowhead vs. the Green Bay Packers.
All Chiefs preseason games are scheduled to be broadcast in Kansas City on KCTV5, the flagship station of the Chiefs Television Network. The Chiefs Television Network is slated to broadcast all Chiefs preseason games in HD to 10 affiliates in the five-state region of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
All Chiefs preseason, regular season and postseason games are broadcast on 101 The Fox (KCFX-FM), the flagship station of the seven-state Chiefs Fox Football Radio Network. One of the NFL’s most respected broadcast tandems – “Voice of the Chiefs” Mitch Holthus and Hall of Fame QB Len Dawson – will call the action together for a 17th consecutive season. KCFX will continue to air one of the league’s finest pregame shows, followed by one hour of postgame interviews and analysis. In addition, Sports Radio 810 (WHB-AM) will broadcast the second hour of the official Chiefs postgame show.
The Chiefs will open their 2010 preseason slate at Atlanta, marking the first time Kansas City has faced the Falcons in the preseason since ’88. Kansas City will travel to Tampa Bay for the club’s second preseason contest. The Chiefs and Buccaneers most recently met in the preseason in 2000. Official times and dates for the preseason will be announced as soon as they are finalized. The NFL has advised teams that the 2010 regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.
