Chiefs Host 12th Annual Blood Drive

With Thanksgiving squarely in the rearview mirror, Chiefs fans are undoubtedly focused on this weekend’s tilt versus the Charges in San Diego and fighting the holiday shopping crowds. Still the team would like to remind you that there are only two days left for you to do your part and team up with the Chiefs Blood Drive and the Community Blood Center.

Now in its twelfth season, the Chiefs Blood Drive increasing important to countless individuals. That’s why the Red and Gold is encouraging everyone to visit their local Community Blood Center branch and donate blood today. Donations will be accepted starting at 8:00 a.m. in most of the eight area Community Blood Center locations making participation a breeze. Last year, the collection registered over 2,700 donors during the holiday week, which is typically one of the slowest for blood donations. This year, the team is looking for your help to surpass those numbers.

In fact, several Chiefs celebrities have lent their name to the cause already this week. In addition to WR Lance Long, the lovable KC Wolf as well as Chiefs Ambassadors including WR Danan Hughes and DB Larry Marshall have all been on hand to laude the benefits of giving blood. If you still haven’t taken the time to swing by your local branch of the Community Blood Center and donate, what are you waiting for?!?!?!

All individuals at least 16 years of age that weigh 115 pounds or more and are in good health are eligible to donate. Participants will receive a limited-edition Chiefs Community Blood Drive t-shirt. Chiefs tickets, signed Chiefs memorabilia and other great prizes will also be given away via drawings in conjunction with this blood drive.
