Kansas City Signs LB Justin Rogers

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Wednesday that the club has signed free agent LB Justin Rogers.

Rogers (6-4, 246) played in 31 games in two seasons with Dallas (2007-08), producing three tackles and 34 special teams stops. He also appeared in one postseason contest with the Cowboys. He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (180th overall) of New England in 2007.

Rogers played in 43 games (33 starts) at SMU, tallying 184 tackles, 32.0 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles and a blocked kick. He finished his collegiate career ranked second in school history with 19.5 sacks. He was a two-time all-district player at Commerce High School in Greenville, Texas.

The Chiefs placed RB Jackie Battle on injured reserve on Wednesday. He played in five games for the Chiefs in 2009, rushing seven times for 21 yards and adding six special teams tackles.
