Oct 13, 2009, 10:36:48 AM

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield, Missouri is honoring the 1969 Kansas City Chiefs at its NFL Football Luncheon today at 11:00 AM. The Hall of Fame will induct the 1969 Chiefs squad into its Honor Roll of World Champions. A relatively new feature at the Hall, the only other team currently included in the Honor Roll of World Champions is the NBA’s 1957-58 St. Louis Hawks.

Pro Football Hall of Famers QB Len Dawson and LB Bobby Bell are anticipated to be in attendance along with Chiefs Hall of Fame inductees RB Curtis McClinton and G Ed Budde among others. Dawson will be the featured speaker at the event.

This event at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame will officially conclude a series of events surrounding Chiefs Alumni Weekend. The Chiefs are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2009, and have a season-long series of events planned to honor the greatest players and moments in the franchise’s illustrious history.
