Chiefs Announce More Roster Moves
Sep 06, 2009, 6:52:40 PMThe Kansas City Chiefs announced on Sunday that the club has been awarded T Ryan O’Callaghan off waivers from New England. The Chiefs also added seven players to the practice squad: CB Jackie Bates, TE Tom Crabtree, DE Dion Gales, DE Bobby Greenwood, G Darryl Harris, RB Javarris Williams and WR Rodney Wright. The Chiefs waived T Barry Richardson. Richardson played in six games for the Chiefs in 2008.
O’Callaghan (6-7, 330) has played in 26 games (seven starts) in three seasons with New England (2006-08). He played in 15 games with one start at right tackle for the Patriots in 2007. O’Callaghan has also seen duty in three postseason contests. He originally entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection (136th overall) of the Patriots in the 2006 NFL Draft.
The Susanville, California native started 35 games during his four-year collegiate career at the University of California-Berkley. He was a prep standout at Enterprise High School in Redding, California.
