Tyler Thigpen Postgame Comments - Chargers
Dec 14, 2008, 5:03:40 PMOn problems moving the ball in the second half: “We’ve got to move the ball offensively. That’s what it comes down to; we’ve got to make first downs and keep the ball in our hands and take time off the clock. If we do we’re not in that situation.”
On if this loss hurts more than any other: “Yeah, it hurts. It hurts like every loss. A loss is a loss and all we can do is take from it, learn from it. We’ve got so much to learn from this loss. Why? I hope everybody on this team knows that.”
On lost opportunities in the second quarter? “On the interception I tried to force it. It was a first down and you can’t do that in the Red Zone. It’s the first interception in the Red Zone I’ve had all year. There’s no reason to have it now this time of the year.”
On the success in the first half: “We were moving the ball good. The defense created some turnovers; we had good field position and were able to put points on the board. That’s one thing we weren’t able to do in the second half.”
At 21-3 do you think the game is pretty much over? “Game’s never over. You saw that today. What we’ve got to learn to do is put it away. That’s what we’ve got to learn to do as a team so we don’t have this situation.”
On the biggest difference in the second half: “We didn’t move the ball. We have to move the ball and get first downs and take time off the clock and we’re not in this situation.”
