Kansas City Agrees to Terms with DE Wallace Gilberry
Nov 05, 2008, 11:51:03 AMKansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has agreed to terms of a three-year contract with DE Wallace Gilberry from the N.Y. Giants practice squad. No other terms of the agreement were made available.
Gilberry (6-2, 268) entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the N.Y. Giants in 2008. He attended training camp with the Giants, but was released prior to the start of the regular season and assigned to that club’s practice squad. Gilberry played in 50 games (33 starts) at Alabama, recording 188 tackles (99 solo), 60.5 tackles for loss, 21.5 sacks (-135.0 yards), 38 QB pressures, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He earned first-team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2007. The Bay Minette, Alabama native prepped at Baldwin County High School.
