Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Saturday that the club has promoted RB Jackie Battle to the club’s 53-man roster from the practice squad. Battle was on the Chiefs 53-man roster for the season opener at New England (9/7) before being assigned to the practice squad.

Battle originally entered the NFL with Dallas as a rookie free agent in 2007, but was released prior to the start of the regular season.

Battle finished his career at the University of Houston with a school record 31 rushing TDs. In 41 collegiate games, Battle tallied 441 carries for 2,120 yards (4.8 avg.) with 31 TDs. He also added six receptions for 45 yards (7.5 avg.) with the Cougars. Battle prepped at Humble High School in Humble, Texas.
