Q&A with HERM EDWARDS - 9/5

Sep 05, 2008, 1:25:13 PM

HERM EDWARDS: “This week has come to a conclusion. Tomorrow we’ll catch up and look at the tape of what we did today and get ready to go play.”

Q: Have you decided on a punt or kick returner?

EDWARDS: “Yeah, we have two of them. We’re going to use the ones that are available. Right now, both of them are available.”

Q: Is KR B.J. Sams healthy?

EDWARDS: “He’s fine. He’s practiced every day, he’s fine. Will Franklin is still limited, so we’ll have to see where he’s at. You guys know we’ve got to put seven guys down, so we’ll make that decision here. You always bring those guys along and make that decision at game time.”

Q: What about you? How do you feel?

EDWARDS: “I’m excited. I’m anxious but excited for these guys. If you’ve been around them, like I said, for as long as we’ve been around them, we’ve watched them get better and now the first test is on Sunday. From there, it continues. I’m excited to see how these guys are going to react. It’s a tough place to play and a fantastic football team we’re going to be playing against. It will be kind of interesting to see how we react to all that.”

Q: Do you feel that you’ve done everything you can to prepare them?

EDWARDS: “Yeah. They’re prepared to play. Our coaching staff has done everything they could possibly do. The players have bought into the plan, and now we’ve just got to execute. We have a chance to win, and that’s what you want to do. Every week you want to give them a chance to win. You have to do some things right, obviously the ball needs to bounce your way every once and a while. I think the players understand the plan and understand how we’re going to try to play the game. Now we’re just trying to get it all done.”
