May 06, 2008, 4:23:15 PM by Brad Kuhbander

21.0 CAREER SACKS

Kansas City selected DE Brian Johnston with its first of two picks in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. The Gardner-Webb product finished his collegiate career with 21.0 sacks, the highest career total in the history of the Big South Conference. He surpassed the previous mark of 19.0 career sacks held by Coastal Carolina DE Adrain Grady. Johnston produced 8.0 sacks in 2006 to tie Grady and DE Kelvin McIver for the highest single-season total in conference history.
