The Kansas City Chiefs and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans recently hosted a successful return of the All Pro Dad
Father & Kids Experience to Kansas City. DST Systems, Inc., an information processing and computer software
services company that is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, also served as an associate sponsor of this year’s
event. Held at the squad’s practice facility, the gathering was headlined again by Chiefs head coach Herman
Edwards.
“There’s not a single thing I can think of that’s more important than being a parent,” Edwards noted. “When I had
the opportunity to get involved with this program, I jumped at it!”
The event truly was a family affair for the Chiefs. Among the several Chiefs players that helped to lead stations
was S Jon McGraw. Throughout the event, he was flanked by his father, Joe, as the two shared personal stories with
those in attendance.
Founded by Family First, the All Pro Dad fatherhood program helps to educate fathers on the best ways to become an
“All Pro Dad.” Fathers are encouraged to bring their children to the event, learn fatherhood tips and participate in
activities with their kids.
“We are very excited to be involved in helping to build stronger connections between Kansas City area dads and their
kids,” noted Thrivent Financial for Lutheran’s Fred Hollich.
“The Chiefs are a wonderful football organization,” said All Pro Dad President Mark Merrill. “We’re even more
excited about how much they are committed to helping Kansas City families.”
The event was sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and DST Systems. Time Warner Cable, along with 101 The
Fox and 94.9 KCMO are media partners for the event.
