"LJ's Legacy & Growth Foundation" to Host Easter Egg Hunt for Local Youth
Mar 18, 2008, 4:28:50 PM“LJ’s Legacy & Growth Foundation” will again join the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity in hosting an “Easter Egg Hunt” for metro-area children. Even though Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson is unable to attend the event this year, it still promises to be a “can’t miss” affair.
This year the Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Swope Park’s main pavilion this Saturday, March 22nd. The “Fun and Games” will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the “Easter Egg Hunt” following at noon.
2008 marks the 22nd edition of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity’s Easter Egg Hunt and the third year “LJ’s Legacy and Growth Foundation” has lent a hand. The annual event is a way to ensure that Kansas Citians who might not otherwise be able to, have a festive holiday.
“LJ’s Legacy & Growth Foundation” was established in 2005 as a result of Johnson’s previous work with at-risk middle school students. This event is one of several activities that the Penn St. alum has supported in an attempt to touch the underprivileged of Kansas City. He also has spent time with the Kansas City, Missouri School District, served as a local representative for the NFL’s Junior Player Development Program, and works with charitable organizations such as ReSTART.
