Chiefs Agree to Terms with UFA LS Jean-Philippe Darche

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the
club has agreed to terms of a four-year contract with unrestricted free agent LS Jean-Philippe Darche. As per Chiefs
policy, no other terms of the agreement was made available.
Darche (6-0, 242) originally entered the NFL as a free agent with Seattle in 2000. The Montreal,
Quebec native has played in 97 regular season games in seven campaigns (2000-06) with Seattle, recording 18 special
teams tackles, as well as one forced fumble and a fumble recovery on special teams. He has also played in five
postseason games, including Super Bowl XL following the 2005 campaign. Darche was a third-round draft pick (21st
overall) of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in ‘98, recording 17 special teams tackles.
The McGill University product was named the club’s Most Valuable Player as a linebacker during his final two
seasons. Darche finished his collegiate career as the school’s all-time leading tackler. He was named the Athlete of
the Year at Andre Grassett Junior College in ‘93-94.
